Description
A solar eclipse electrified all of North America on the afternoon of April 8, 2024, especially for those living under the path of totality. On Manitoulin Island, Ontario, we didn't get a full eclipse but my telescope caught some terrific images. The weather forecast suggested the clouds would clear near the end of the show, but Mother Nature intervened and blew them away only about 20 minutes after the start. I quickly brought my Celestron in pieces outside and reassembled, together with a solar filter and camera. This is the first image I caught just before the moon moved in front of a massive sunspot.
